Sometimes Goodwill also takes on the heavier, but perhaps even more important, assignments. This is one such video production, created in collaboration with Sunrise for the Mary Foundation and the Tryg Foundation.

Life happens. And sometimes it hits hard, making the road to a better life long and difficult. But there is hope, because help is available.

Why Simplicity Matters

When the stories are as difficult as the one Lucca has allowed us to hear, what matters most is what she has to say. That is why Peter created a film that keeps her and her story at the center.

She speaks directly to the camera, we see her face, and we stay close to her. From time to time, her story is complemented by supporting footage and background music that never distract from her words, but instead helps emphasize them.

A Sense of Safety

When stories this personal and significant are being told, making sure the people involved feel safe is absolutely essential. That is also why it can sometimes be a good idea to work with a very small crew.

We sent Peter. And only Peter.

Thanks to his preparation, preliminary interviews, time, care, and the safe space he created for Lucca, there was room to share both the darkness and the light: how to get help, where to find it, and how things can get better.
